A chill day in Ashland. Took a bit of time to go through some familiar shops, and read in Lithia. Finished Network Effect by Martha Wells, when it was good it was really good. I’ve enjoyed her earlier novellas and this novel. I suppose I really enjoyed the pacing of the other books. This one lingered a bit, when I was used to a different tempo. But overall, very satisfying. We got some good character interactions, a bit of a mystery, and plenty of action. As well as some very touching moments. I’m looking forward to the next few books, but I might switch gears. I fell onto Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City by K.J. Parker aka Tom Holt. So far love the sardonic tone, and the worldbuilding. It’s a delightful fantasy so far.

Bloomsbury Books is a lovely bookstore, I always find some good reading inspiration there, that’s where I came across Legends & Lattes, but I don’t typically buy books, working in a library, so I did feel a bit guilty leaving there empty handed.

Also nota bene: Mix is definitely one of the top two bakeries/cafes I’ve ever been to. Great coffee, great pastries.

There are a set of cats here that are slowly getting familiar with each other.
