This is all very personal but it's better to put it up somewhere I go look back at next year and see what I've done or not.

Media Consumption

At least a book a month, I just wish I could read this much. Although I believe I will actually count the books I listened too. Last Year it was about 3 audio books and 9 eBooks, I suppose that's a book a month all told but I was hoping to get through with the optical books as well be they paper or eBook. So I'd like to up that all by a third. At least a dozen optical books and 4 audiobooks for a total of 16.

Movies are coming out all the time and I have a long list of films I want to watch.

And I haven't really taken advantage of the subscriptions I have so I'd like to trim down the streamers I have but keep a couple on that I really can't get rid of: Prime seems to be here to stay, I hate seeing adds in YouTube now Premium is staying, I like having ready access to any Star Trek so Paramount is sticking around too, Acorn and Britbox seem to be beloved by my family and I really want to keep Criterion. Between all of those I think those are all I will need so I can drop Max and Disney/Hulu.

Really I just want to see a film I have never seen before each week. Doesn't have to be new. Doesn't have to be streaming. I've got a library card too and I know where the movie theaters in my area are.

Travel

Visit my mom at least once. Travel to London? I'd like to make a trip next fall.

Learning

I'd like to finish a shortish field of study, like a class (MOOC). This would not include any lectures series I listen to passively. I hope to apply for graduate school in the following year so I'd like to feel confident that I can finish a program of study. I'm looking into Data Science or Data Analytics as I think it would help set me up in my work or further studies.

Language Learning

I really want to accelerate my knowledge of Spanish. Maintain my knowledge of French. Refresh Persian. Maybe get reacquainted with Arabic. Pick-up (and practice) some more ASL. Dip my toes into something new?

Programming

This is largely a hobby for me but I find applications at work all the time. Keep working with Python and JavaScript. Find applications for Go and build up my knowledge of C. C++ would be good to get to know better as would Perl. Strengthen my knowledge of SQL. Learning to work with APIs, learn a bit about Machine Learning. Maybe build a web scraper. I still want to build something that is an audio-visual interaction. Perhaps Web Assembly?

Slightly Related I'd like to be sure that my uncle's Penrose Tiling program is out there for people to study and learn from. I build a website for it and I really want it updated and useful in general so it can highlight his work.

I might want to move towards self-hosting my Ghost site as well but I'll see about that next summer.

Creative Activity

Digital, Musical, Graphic. Storytelling. Nothing specific.
